Area

Signal Theory and Communications

Short Bio

José Luis Rojo Álvarez received the Telecommunications Engineer degree from the University of Vigo, Vigo, Spain, in 1996, and the Ph.D. degree in telecommunications from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 2000. Since 2016, he has been Full Professor with Rey Juan Carlos University, Madrid. In 2015, he joined Persei vivarium as a Chief Scientific Officer for building bridges between eHealth industry and academy research. He has published more than 90 papers in JCR journals and more than 150 conference communications, and he has participated in more than 50 projects (with public and private funding entities). Currently he is running a pioneer Degree Program on Biomedical Engineering, involving Hospitals and Companies in electromedics and eHealth. He received in 2009 the I3 Program to the Excellent Research Trajectory from the Spanish Ministry of Science, and in 2016 the Price to the Talented Researcher from Rey Juan Carlos University. His research interests include statistical learning, digital processing and data science, with applications to biomedical engineering, cardiac arrhythmias and eHealth emerging systems.
